The Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal along with a donation from the Narsee Monjee Educational Trust started NMIMS as a part of the Mumbai University in 1981. It offers courses/programs across diverse fields such as Management, Technology, Science, Architecture, Pharmacy, Commerce and Economics. Today it has over 6000 students on a campus of 40,000 sq. ft. Some of the goals of the institute are going beyond the average, putting in that extra mile, aiming to excel and winning on all accounts. The focus is to develop a complete student, a combination of academic excellence along with co-curricular skills.

Admissions to the following programs are through NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) followed by Case Discussion (CD) & Personal Interview (PI) and selection on Merit.

On the main site, there is an admissions link which leads a student to the online registration form. It starts from July 02, 2014. After the registration, students may choose a test date within an NMAT Test Window period of October 7th to December 20th 2014.

For the MBA (Mumbai Campus) Program, a Full Time Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in the first attempt.
Those candidates who have cleared their graduation by doing a part-time course or through distance learning, correspondence courses, externally, open school are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

For the MBA – Pharmaceutical (Mumbai Campus) Program or HR, a Full Time Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Science, Life Sciences, MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biotechnology from a recognized University with a minimum 50% marks in the aggregate in the first attempt. Post Graduate degree holders in Economics, Psychology and Sociology can also apply.

Candidates with B.Tech. Or B.E. in Bio-Tech. or Bio-Medical courses are also eligible to apply.
Those candidates who have cleared their graduation by doing a part-time course or through distance learning, correspondence courses, externally, open school are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.
Candidates working in Pharmaceutical Companies for more than two years are preferred.

For the Bangalore and Hyderabad campuses, the same criteria as the Mumbai campus holds good.
