Eligibility
It is important for the applicants to possess a decent graduation degree through any deemed or recognized university. If you are a student who is into the final year of graduation and waiting for results sometime soon, you too are eligible to apply.
Test Duration & Pattern
Exam pattern is divided into 3 major sections
• Decision making: The total number of questions that the students will have to face is 25.
• Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation: Candidates are required to answer a total of 36 questions.
• Verbal and Logical Ability: Candidates would be required to answer 30 questions in total.
For answering questions from these three sections, candidates will be getting not more than 140 minutes which is a decent but competitive duration. Alongside, candidates shall also face another vital section which is called Essay & General Awareness for which they will only be given a duration of 40 minutes. They are asked to answer 30 questions and most of them (even if not all) are based on factual general awareness and the current affairs.
Beware of the negative marking which spreads out to an alarming 1/4th of marks for each of the questions.
Exam format
XAT is a kind of exam that is purely paper based. Nature of the exam allows inclusion of subjective form of test based on the general awareness and essay writing. Format of the exam is simple and not complex to grasp.

XAT is usually an exam with duration of almost 3 hours. Initially, the XAT exam was divided into a decent and tight duration of not more than 2 hours and 20 minutes. Many believe that the pattern of XAT is lot more similar when it comes to other most prestigious exams taken by the management students and conducted by the different IIMs in the country.
Usually the XAT results come out by the end of the month of January but due to unavoidable reasons, it can also be delay.
