VIT business school is governed by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University. Initially the school was set up in 1994 as the Department of Management Sciences. VIT is a Deemed University, i.e. it follows its own portion, rules and regulations. It is located in the city of Vellore between Chennai and Bangalore in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. There are two campuses, one located in Vellore and the other in Chennai. Masters of Business Administration (MBA) is offered in trimester pattern in various fields like finance, marketing, human resources, information systems, international business, manufacturing management and business analytics. Students pursuing MBA in International Business get an opportunity to spend the second year of their degrees in University of Michigan-Dearborn and/or University of Massachusetts Boston in USA.
PhD at VIT includes in-depth research in the various fields related to management. A special coursework has been deigned to assist researchers in getting to know the various aspects of research.
