
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is an autonomous business school. It was established by the government of India in 1963. Students have to take a national test to get enrolled in this prestigious institution. MBA in International Management is the flagship program of IIFT. IIFT has two campuses – at Kolkata and one at Delhi. IIFT also provides part time programmes for students. Executive programmes are conducted on weekends for working professionals.
Eligibility Criteria for IIFT 2015
You should have a minimum three years bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognised university. You are also eligible if you are in the last year of your degree. There is no age limit to take the test. After you qualify in the exam group discussions, essay writing and interview would be conducted. Selection of the candidates is done on all the above mentioned criteria. Seats are reserved for foreign nationals, NRIs and children of NRIs.
How to Apply to IIFT?
There are different ways in which you can apply for the test. While applying online you’ll need to upload you scanned photo and signature to register and make the payment. Application prospectus can also be ordered through post.
You can pay application fee through a demand draft, credit/debit card, or by paying cash. The amount of demand draft and the postal charges are available on the IIFT website -> (http://edu.iift.ac.in/iift/index.php).
IIFT Entrance Pattern
It is a written test consisting of four sections; English comprehension, General Knowledge and Awareness, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Analysis respectively. IIFT 2015 is a two hour paper pencil based test. Varied numbers of question are asked in the test every year.
IIFT Exam Syllabus
1. English comprehension
Different questions based on verbal reasoning, sentence correction, sentence completion, antonyms, synonyms, idioms and phrases, one word substitution, grammar and punctuation, errors in word choice, etc. are tested in the exam. Foreign language words that are used in English are also asked.
2. General Knowledge and Awareness
This section of the exam tests your general knowledge in various fields. Sports and games, awards, important events, current affairs, famous personalities, books and their authors, famous quotes, etc. can be the topics on which questions are asked in IIFT 2015.
3. Logical Reasoning
Arguments, puzzles, family tree problems, coding, decoding, sequencing, statements, conclusions, etc. form the basis of this section. Multiple choice questions on the above topics are asked.
4. Quantitative Analysis
This is mathematics based section. Questions based on geometry, algebra, LCM, Mensuration, simple and compound interest, number based systems, logarithm, coordinate based geometry, etc. are asked under this section.
